If the father prevents his daughter from marrying you out of obstinacy and stubbornness, despite you being suitable for her, then he is preventing her from marrying (a'dil). It is her right to raise the matter to a judge to marry her off. Nevertheless, it is not permissible for her to abandon him, for the father's right is great.
