What is the ruling on hairstyles that women adopt, and is a woman considered to be imitating disbelievers if she adorns herself with the hairstyles that they display, and what is the ruling on straightening hair?

The criterion for blameworthy imitation in Islamic law is that a Muslim performs an action or adopts an attire specific to disbelievers, such that anyone who sees him would say: "This person is imitating disbelievers." As for what has become widespread among Muslims and is no longer exclusive to disbelievers, it is not a forbidden imitation. Therefore, if a specific hairstyle or hair parting is exclusive to disbelieving women, such that anyone who sees it would say: "So-and-so is imitating disbelieving women," then it is forbidden. However, if it has become widespread among Muslim women and is not exclusive to disbelieving women, then there is no harm in it.
