The question

Does divorce occur through obsessive whispering and talking to oneself in an inaudible voice and without the wife's intention, or when the voice comes out with the breath, knowing that the questioner has read that divorce requires hearing the voice during utterance?

The answer

Satan is an enemy to man, and his whispers are among his plots. Therefore, you should completely turn away from these whispers and seek refuge in Allah from Satan. If it becomes necessary to consult a trustworthy psychiatrist, then do so. The divorce of one who is afflicted by obsessive doubts (whose mind is overcome) does not take effect, and he is not bound by divorce or prayer. The certainty of the marital bond remaining does not vanish with doubt about divorce. So, do not read about issues of divorce or ask about them as long as you are suffering from obsessive doubts. As for uttering divorce before the obsessive doubts became firm, with an unhearable utterance, divorce does not take effect thereby according to the majority of jurists.
