Is it obligatory for a young married man living abroad to return to his home country to live with his wife and son, or should he continue living abroad to improve his financial situation, taking into consideration his fear of temptation (fitna) and helping his brothers?

Helping those in need contains great good and reward, especially if they are relatives. It is not permissible for a husband to be absent from his wife for more than six months except with her permission and consent, based on what Umar ibn al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, decided. It is preferable for the husband to reside with his wife or to bring her to him due to the benefits that result from this, including the upbringing of children. It is not advisable to stay away from family and to be a stranger for too long merely to improve one's financial situation.
