ما هو خطر الصوفية وهل يجوز اتباعهم؟
There is no doubt that contemporary Sufi orders contain deviations such as exaggeration regarding their Shaykhs, and offering worship to shrines through supplication, seeking aid, vows, sacrifices, and circumambulation. This is polytheism (shirk) that is unforgivable. Anyone who reflects on what some Sufis say will realize the extent of the danger and deviation they have reached, such as their saying: "O Messenger of Allah, aid and support!" and other statements that are impermissible to seek from anyone but Allah. Seeking from other than Allah and asking them to relieve distress is major polytheism (shirk akbar) that contradicts Tawhid (monotheism). In addition, they adopt false doctrines such as al-hulul (incarnation) and al-ittihad (unification), fall into innovations (bid'ah), cling to weak and fabricated hadiths, and rely excessively on visions and dreams. Therefore, it is impermissible for a Muslim to follow any of these Sufi groups; rather, it is obligatory to be wary of them, keep away from them, and warn against them.
