The worshipper was obliged to remove the impure cloth immediately upon remembering it. If he could not do so without interrupting the prayer, he should interrupt it, remove the impurity, and then resume the prayer, because the prayer of one carrying impurity is invalid according to the majority of scholars. If he prayed unaware of this ruling, repeating the prayer is more cautious. If he does not know which prayer it was, he should pray the five daily prayers to clear his conscience.
