The answer

It is impermissible to work in anything connected to Riba-based (usurious) banks, such as printing cards or PINs, because it constitutes aiding in sin, as Allah the Almighty says: ﴿And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression.﴾ The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, also cursed the one who consumes Riba, the one who feeds it, its scribe, and its two witnesses, indicating that they are equal in sin. The فقهاء (jurists) have clarified that anything intended for the unlawful or leading to disobedience is forbidden, and this includes selling or doing anything that supports Riba-based banks. However, if a permissible job is not available, one may work for Islamic banks because they are less sinful, until a job free from evil becomes available.
