If the Eid coincides with a Friday, then whoever prays Eid with the Imam is exempted from the obligation of attending the Friday prayer. The Friday prayer then becomes a Sunnah for him. If he does not attend the Friday prayer, then the Dhuhr prayer becomes obligatory upon him. This ruling is for everyone except the Imam. As for the Imam, he must attend the Friday prayer and establish it with those who are present with him. The Friday prayer is not to be abandoned completely on this day.
