The answer

The Sunnah upon hearing roosters crow is to ask Allah for His bounty, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "When you hear the crowing of roosters, ask Allah for His bounty, for they have seen an angel."

And upon hearing the barking of dogs and the braying of donkeys, one should seek refuge in Allah, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "When you hear the barking of dogs and the braying of donkeys at night, seek refuge in Allah, for they see what you do not see."
