How can the reward mentioned in the Prophetic hadiths be, such as building a palace in Paradise for one who maintains twelve rak'ahs, or forbidding his flesh from the Fire for one who prays four rak'ahs before Dhuhr and four after it? And does the servant obtain this reward every day separately? And in the event that he does not perform these rak'ahs on a certain day, does he miss out on the reward?

The apparent meanings of the hadiths concerning the building of a house in Paradise vary. Some indicate that the reward is contingent upon maintaining the twelve rak'ahs of prayer, while others suggest that performing it once earns the reward.

Among what indicates the first meaning is the hadith of Umm Habiba, may Allah be pleased with her, that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "There is no Muslim servant who prays to Allah every day twelve rak'ahs voluntarily, other than the obligatory prayers, but Allah will build for him a house in Paradise." The interpretation of this hadith is found in the hadith of Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Whoever perseveres in twelve rak'ahs, Allah Almighty will build for him a house in Paradise: four before Dhuhr, two after Dhuhr, two after Maghrib, two after Isha, and two before Fajr."

Some hadiths state that whoever prays this number at once, whether by night or day, will receive the same reward. In another hadith, whoever prays ten rak'ahs of Duha prayer, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.

As for the reward for praying four rak'ahs before Dhuhr and four after it, some hadiths indicate that immunity from the Fire is obtained even by performing it once, while others indicate the condition of perseverance. In the hadith of Umm Habiba: "Whoever prays four rak'ahs before Dhuhr and four after it, Allah will forbid him from the Fire." In another hadith: "Whoever maintains four rak'ahs before Dhuhr and four after it, Allah will forbid him from the Fire." Both are authentic, and the apparent meaning of the first hadith indicates that immunity is obtained by a single performance, while the second narration indicates that immunity is only obtained by perseverance.

Therefore, whoever perseveres in this number of supererogatory prayers or performs them at once, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise, and this is from the grace of Allah the Almighty. The same applies to the four rak'ahs before and after Dhuhr.
