The answer

A menstruating woman's body, clothes, and sweat are pure. Only direct intercourse is forbidden with a menstruating woman, due to the Almighty’s saying: (So keep away from women during menstruation), and due to His (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: (Do everything except intercourse). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to recline in 'Aisha's lap (may Allah be pleased with her) while she was menstruating and recite the Qur'an. It is permissible to pray in a room even if there is a menstruating woman in it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to pray supererogatory prayers in the laps of his wives, and there is no doubt that some of his wives were menstruating. It was reported in some narrations of Ibn Abbas’s hadith that he spent the night with his aunt Maimunah, and she was menstruating.
