What is the ruling on the Quranic chain of transmission (Sanad) being connected through female memorizers (hafizāt) who have been granted ijāzah (authorization), in order to avoid embarrassment from women reciting to men, and what is the ruling on bestowing the title "Shaykhah" upon both the one who grants the ijāzah and the one who receives it?

The Mothers of the Believers narrated and taught knowledge. The Hadith (definition) scholars narrated from women among the Companions and the Tabi'in. There is no difference in this regard between the Qur'an and Hadith. Women studying with women is safer and further removed from suspicion. A female teacher may grant ijaza (certification) to her female student if she knows of her competence. There is no impediment to bestowing the title "Shaykha" upon women.
