The answer

Sodomy is a heinous crime and an abominable sin. However, one who committed it while young and not yet بالغ (of age/mature) is not held accountable for it, due to the حديث (Prophetic saying): "The pen is lifted from three." As for one who committed it while بالغ (of age/mature) and repented with sincere repentance, Allah will accept his repentance, in accordance with the Almighty's saying: "Except for those who repent, believe, and do righteous deeds." And His saying: "Say, 'O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins.'" As for wudu' (ablution), it is accepted and has no relation to sins; rather, it is among the expiations for minor sins.
