What is the ruling on pictures of body parts, such as the hand or foot, and pictures of young children in signatures and avatars, by analogy with the prohibition of complete animate images?

Drawing images of animate beings is forbidden. However, if the image is incomplete, by removing a part without which life cannot exist, such as the head, then some scholars have permitted it. So, there is no harm in drawing a part of a human, like a hand, a leg, or a head, nor in using them in signatures. As for photographic images, the preponderant view is that they are permissible, and there is no difference between photographing men, women, and children in both types of imaging.
