Is it permissible to use contraceptives, such as condoms, on the first night after marriage to delay childbearing?

It is permissible to practice azl (coitus interruptus) and use condoms if one does not desire a child, provided the wife agrees, as she has a right to enjoyment and to have children. The evidence for its permissibility is that the Companions used to practice azl during the time of the Prophet, peace be upon him, and he did not forbid them. However, it is strongly disliked (makruh karaha shadidah), for when the Prophet, peace be upon him, was asked about azl, he said: "That is the hidden infanticide." Azl is the withdrawal of the penis before ejaculation outside the vagina, and it is a way to prevent conception, which is why it was called "the hidden infanticide." Nevertheless, it is not forbidden. It is better to avoid it unless there is a need, such as the wife being harmed by pregnancy, and because it negates the objectives of marriage, which include increasing offspring and the wife's complete pleasure.
