The answer

If the killing was accidental, the blood money (diyyah) is Islamically stipulated as one hundred camels or their equivalent value. It is not permissible to exceed this amount unless the guardians of the deceased allow it. The driver's āqilah (kinsfolk responsible for paying blood money) must bear the blood money for the accidental killing. The blood-claimants have the right to file a lawsuit to obtain their right if what was given to them is less than the value of the blood money. They may take the blood money from any party to whom they are referred by the perpetrator or the judiciary.
