Must one make up missed prayers after ghusl from menstruation for one who did not know of their obligation and is ignorant of their number?

A menstruating woman must make up the prayer for the time in which she became pure. The majority of scholars hold that she must make up all prayers. However, Al-Hasan al-Basri and Sufyan al-Thawri are of the view that she is only required to make up the prayer for the time in which she became pure. If a layperson acts upon a statement made by scholars, then their action is sufficient, and they are not required to repeat it.
