Where does a widow observe her iddah (waiting period)? Is it in her family's home or in her sponsor's home, given that she works in a country other than her native one?

A traveling woman whose husband has passed away is permitted to observe her iddah (waiting period) in her safe current location if the distance to her husband's home is that of qasr (the distance that permits shortening prayers) or more. She is also allowed to return to her marital home accompanied by a mahram. However, if the distance is less than that of qasr and the road is safe, she must return to her marital home, as this is the fundamental principle for observing iddah, unless there is an impediment. If the domestic worker in question traveled with her husband's consent, she is permitted to observe her iddah in her sponsor's home. If she has a mahram with her, she can return to her husband's home to complete her iddah before its end.
