The answer

The deceased sees his place in Paradise or Hell after his death, as mentioned in the that the grave is the first stage of the Hereafter. So, the righteous man is seated in his grave and shown his place in Paradise, and it is said to him: "Upon certainty you lived, upon it you died, and upon it you shall be resurrected, Allah willing." As for the evil man, he sees his place in Hell, and it is said to him: "Upon doubt you lived, upon it you died, and upon it you shall be resurrected, Allah Almighty willing."

A Muslim should reflect upon the states of the people in the graves and learn lessons from them, but this should be done with moderation so that it remains a motivation for repentance and good deeds, and one should beware of excessiveness that may lead to obsessive thoughts and psychological illnesses. A Muslim should be between fear and hope.
