Is the failure to respond to the whispers of glorification (tasbeeh) and remembrance of Allah while committing a minor sin (not lowering the gaze) considered polytheism (shirk)?

The questioner should occupy himself with abandoning sins and striving for the means of safety from them, and diligently purifying his soul through piety. This will benefit him and relieve him from the burden of obsessive whispers (waswas). Indeed, when a servant commits a sin, his faith diminishes and the urge for good within him weakens, as the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "The adulterer does not commit adultery while he is a believer..." (the Hadith (definition)). And the servant allows Satan to dominate him if he leaves himself and sin unchecked, thereby strengthening the effect of Satan's whispers and weakening the soul's desire for good. The cure for this is through fearing Allah (taqwa (definition)) and adhering to His commands, hastening to seek forgiveness and repentance, and following a bad deed with a good one.
