Once this occurs, maintenance is established. The jurists have agreed on the obligation of the wife's maintenance upon her husband by virtue of a valid marriage contract, as long as she does not refuse tamkeen. Therefore, if the wife offers herself to her husband, willingly allowing full enjoyment, her maintenance is binding upon him. This does not depend on the occurrence of penetration; rather, the basis is merely the act of tamkeen.
