What is the wisdom behind the two-year period of breastfeeding, why does breastfeeding prohibit what lineage prohibits, and what is the wisdom behind the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, not accepting any wet nurse other than Halimah al-Sa'diyah?

A Muslim must submit to God's command and judgment, even if the wisdom behind it is not apparent to him. The nursing period is two full years because it is the maximum period the child needs without harm. The wisdom behind the prohibition of marriage due to suckling and those who are in its ruling is that the infant's body grew from the milk of the nursing woman, and he inherited from her characteristics, and to expand the circle of kinship. The nursing mother has a reward and recompense, and she may deserve a nursing wage. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was not nursed only by Halima; rather, he had several other wet nurses.
