What should we do with hair wrapped in a thread with four turns, found in the bathroom and in a maid's bag, knowing that it is not the hair of the household members or the maid?
To get rid of magic after finding it, one must untie the knots and separate the parts while reciting the Mu'awwidhat (Surahs Al-Falaq and An-Nas), then destroy it by burning. It is authentically established that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was afflicted by magic, and it was found in a well. He commanded that the knots be untied and the verses be recited. One should know the location of the magic, extract it, and destroy it to nullify its effect. Furthermore, one must be cautious of female domestic workers and strive to return them [to their homes], and fortify oneself with legitimate remembrances (adhkar) such as the morning and evening adhkar, those for sleeping, and for entering and exiting. One should also recite Ayatul Kursi, the Mu'awwidhat, and the last two verses of Surat Al-Baqarah. One should frequently say: "I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created," and "In the Name of Allah, with Whose Name nothing on earth or in the heavens can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing." One should also supplicate to Allah, asking Him for healing and praying with: "O Allah, Lord of mankind, remove the affliction and grant healing. You are the Healer. There is no healing except Your healing, a healing that leaves no sickness behind." And the ruqyah (incantation): "In the Name of Allah I perform ruqyah for you, from everything that harms you, and from the evil of every soul or envious eye, may Allah heal you. In the Name of Allah I perform ruqyah for you."
