The answer

Scholars have differed on the permissibility of the phrase "short surah." Some have permitted it, citing the statement of Ibn ʿUmar: "And what part of the Qur’an is not from the Mufassal (detailed)? Rather, say 'short surahs' or 'small surahs.'" Others, like Ibn Sīrīn and Abu al-ʿĀliyah, disliked it due to Allah's saying: "Indeed, We will cast upon you a heavy word" (Quran 73:5). Therefore, it is possible to say: "a light surah" (surah yasīrah). There is no harm in the opinion that it is not disliked.
