The question

What is the authenticity of this Hadith: "O Allah, I bear witness to You, and I bear witness to Your angels, and to the bearers of Your Throne, and I bear witness to those in the heavens and those on earth, that You are Allah, there is no god but You alone, You have no partner, and I disbelieve in whoever rejects this from the first and the last. And I bear witness that Muhammad is Your servant and Your Messenger. Whoever says it once, a third of him is freed from the Fire; whoever says it twice, two-thirds of him are freed from the Fire; and whoever says it thrice, all of him is freed from the Fire"?

The answer

The Hadith: "O Allah, I ask You to bear witness, and I ask Your angels, and the bearers of Your Throne to bear witness..." was narrated by Al-Tabarani with two chains of transmission. In one of them, there is a narrator who is unknown. Al-Hakim authenticated it, and Al-Dhahabi agreed with him. It also has a weak corroborating narration from the Hadith of Anas.
