We advise him to observe the remembrances (dhikr) and etiquettes of sleep, and to recite the reported supplications for seeking refuge (ta'awwudh) when startled. There is no objection to resorting to (exorcism) according to the , for treatment with the Book of Allah, the , and lawful invocations is among the most effective means of healing from evils. Perhaps the nightmares he experiences are from Satan, so we advise him to continue reciting the remembrances of sleep with certainty, especially Ayatul-Kursi, for whoever recites it, no devil shall approach him until he awakens.
