The answer

Abu Hurairah narrated that he memorized two vessels of knowledge from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him; he disseminated one and withheld the other for fear for himself. Scholars have clarified that the vessel which was not disseminated concerned news of tribulations (fitan), the names of evil rulers, their circumstances, and what would happen at the end of time, and not rulings of Islamic law regarding what is permissible and impermissible, because concealing the is not allowed. Abu Hurairah used to allude to some of these accounts without explicitly stating them, for fear of his life.
