The answer

You did not err in your request to your husband. Rather, he erred by insulting and reviling you unjustly. However, you erred by not going home when he commanded you, and this is considered 'nushuz' (disobedience). If he divorces you, you must be patient and accept Allah's decree. He is permitted to take you back into his wedlock if he has not divorced you more than twice. During the 'iddah (waiting period), he can take you back without your permission. After its expiration, he cannot take you back except with a new contract. We advise seeking the mediation of good people and compromise from both parties.
