What is the meaning of not interpreting the Qur’an based on personal opinion, and does this contradict pondering God’s verses?

"Tadabbur" (contemplation) is reading the Qur'an with understanding and attentiveness of heart, and referring to books of Tafsir (definition) (exegesis) or asking people of knowledge regarding any difficult passages. It is a religiously enjoined act. Contemplation does not contradict the condemnation of blameworthy interpretation based on personal opinion, because the latter is interpreting the Qur'an in a way that contradicts the text, the consensus of the early Muslims (Salaf), the Arabic language, or without proper scrutiny.
