What is the ruling on a husband resorting to watching Haram (forbidden) things to complete intercourse with his wife due to his inability to achieve an erection without it?
One must repent and seek forgiveness for unrestrained gazing at forbidden things, for the texts of the Quran and Sunnah have affirmed their prohibition. Allah Almighty says: "Tell the believing men to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts. That is purer for them. Indeed, Allah is Acquainted with what they do." [An-Nur: 30]. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, considered the gaze of the eye as adultery, saying: "So the adultery of the eye is gazing." Moreover, gazing is a poisoned arrow from the arrows of Iblis (Satan), and whoever abandons it seeking Allah's pleasure will find the sweetness of faith in his heart. Therefore, one must desist from this sin and seek lawful ways to solve the problem, such as obeying Allah, asking for well-being, enjoining one's wife to be dutiful, and consulting a doctor when necessary, in accordance with the Prophet's saying, peace and blessings be upon him: "Seek treatment."
