What is the ruling on a Muslim man working as a nurse in non-Muslim countries, given the existence of troubling matters related to the profession, such as serving unlawful food to patients (including women), washing and changing female patients' clothes, and participating in activities that involve music, knowing that the majority of nurses and patients are women? And is this specialization suitable for him?

Working in this field is forbidden for the following reasons: impermissible mixing [of genders], serving pork and prohibited drinks, uncovering and touching 'awrah (private parts) without necessity, participating in activities that involve singing, music, and mixing, and nursing women when female nurses are available. The fundamental principle in treating and nursing women is that it should be done by a female doctor and a female nurse.
