The woman observing the iddah (waiting period) must remain in the house where her husband left her until her iddah concludes. For a widow, this period is four months and ten days. The house where the woman is residing is the place where she observes the mourning (ihdad). She is permitted to leave for necessities or needs that no one else can fulfill for her, such as medical treatment or purchasing essential supplies, or if the house is uninhabitable or unsafe. In such cases, she may move to another house that provides safety and stability, while still adhering to the rules of mourning.
