How can the apparent intelligence of inanimate objects and living creatures in the Qur’an, such as mountains, the hoopoe, and the ant, be interpreted, given the smallness of their intellects compared to humans? And does this indicate that inanimate objects and other creatures are more intelligent than humans?

Other creatures, such as animals and inanimate objects, glorify Allah the Almighty and submit to Him. They possess a perception that humans do not grasp, as Allah the Almighty states in the Holy Qur'an: "The seven heavens and the earth and whatever is in them exalt Him. And there is not a thing except that it exalts [Him] with praise, but you do not understand their [way of] exalting." These inanimate objects are affected by the disbelief of humans: "The heavens almost rupture therefrom, and the earth splits open, and the mountains collapse in devastation. That they attribute to the Most Merciful a son." In the Sunnah, the Prophet (peace be upon him) informed us that ants are a glorifying nation, that trees and stones rejoice at the death of a wicked person, and that a stone in Mecca used to greet him, which indicates the perception of these creatures.
