The fasting person must be careful not to swallow water during ablution, and it is not prescribed for him to be excessive in rinsing his mouth. If any water precedes him to his throat or stomach unintentionally, then he does not break his fast by that, as Ibn Qudamah said: "And if he rinses his mouth or sniffs water during purification, and water precedes to his throat unintentionally and without excess, then there is nothing upon him."
