Is the statement, "You know what is within my self, and I do not know what is within Your Self," when making supplication (du'a), considered an overstepping of the Holy Quran, or is it a normal form of supplication?

A person's statement, "I do not know what is in my soul except You, Lord of the Worlds," is not an overstepping of the Qur'an; rather, it is permissible and rightful speech, because the knowledge of a servant is limited, and Allah alone knows everything and knows the hidden thoughts of a person's soul. This is supported by the Muslim's supplication in Salatul-Istikhara: "Indeed, You are able and I am not, and You know and I do not." If a person is afflicted by a worry whose cause they do not know, they should send blessings upon the Prophet, seek forgiveness, and persist in reciting the supplications for distress.
