What is the ruling on listening to music, such as religious and regular anasheed, or the sound of games?

Listening to music is forbidden in Sharia. It is also forbidden to listen to anything accompanied by music, whether religious anthems or otherwise. The Permanent Committee for Scholarly Research and Ifta has issued a fatwa prohibiting religious invocations accompanied by music, explaining that music alone is forbidden, and that its accompaniment with invocations mixes worship with amusement. If the invocations are bid'ah (innovations in religion), then that is even worse, as it combines amusement with bid'ah, in addition to imitating the worship of disbelievers.
