What is the ruling on playing the daff (tambourine) at wedding celebrations in halls attached to mosques, whether for men or for women?

The Sharia permits women to use the duff (a type of tambourine) at weddings and on the two Eids, but not in mosques. If the halls attached to a mosque are not designated for prayer, they do not take on the ruling of a mosque. However, if the hall is within the mosque's building and designated for prayer, then playing the duff in it is not permissible, even for women, because duffs are played outside the mosque. Playing the duff is specific to women for the announcement of marriage, and it is not permissible for men.
