Can a Muslim believe that Jesus is the Son of God?

Among the most important pillars of faith is to declare Allah free from all imperfections, including the attribute of having a son, which necessitates need and resemblance. The Quran refuted the Christian belief that Jesus is the son of God, clarifying that Jesus is a messenger from Allah, His word which He bestowed upon Mary, and a spirit from Him. Islam is not established except by disavowing this false belief.
