Must I compel myself to marry in order to obtain guidance and assistance, especially given my feelings of depression and low self-esteem, my distance from worship, my regret over committing fornication, and my suffering from psychological and familial disturbances?

You have committed a sin by resorting to fornication. You must repent sincerely and regret what has passed, and open a new page with your Lord by increasing good deeds. Allah Almighty says: (Indeed, good deeds do away with evil deeds). You must strive to marry a righteous man who will help you with your religion and your chastity. We also advise you to seek the help of a psychiatrist. It is not permissible for you to reside in a house with a man who is a stranger to you. Rather, you should live with your parents or with trustworthy female companions until Allah provides you with a righteous husband.
