What is the solution for someone who prays Tarawih and Witr with the Imam, and wishes to revive the latter part of the night with Tahajjud and recitation, given the Hadith: "Make the last of your prayers at night Witr"?

It is prescribed to combine the virtue of praying with the Imam until he departs, and performing the night prayer (Qiyam (definition) al-Layl) by delaying the Witr. This is done by adding one rak'ah to the Witr with the Imam, and not making the taslim (definition) with him. Then, you pray as much as you wish and conclude with Witr. This approach is permissible during the last ten nights of Ramadan (definition). As for the rest of Ramadan, it might be susceptible to showing off (riya'), self-admiration (ujb), or revealing a private good deed publicly, unlike a hidden good deed. Alternatively, you can pray Witr with the Imam and then pray two rak'ahs at a time, without repeating Witr, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "There are not two Witrs in one night."
