The answer

It is recommended to supplicate for the deceased after burial by seeking forgiveness and asking for steadfastness, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Seek forgiveness for your brother, and ask for steadfastness for him, for he is now being questioned." This supplication was mentioned in general terms. If a Muslim supplicates once, it is sufficient. If he supplicates three times, it is better, following the example of the Prophet (peace be upon him) who used to supplicate three times. There is no objection to supplicating more than three times.
