What is the ruling on placing a small copper wire in the ear, according to the sheikhs of the zawaya?

What the sheikhs of the Zawiyas put, called "Al-Ayyasha," to ward off the evil eye or to heal a sick person, is among the prohibited matters of Jahiliyyah (pre-Islamic ignorance) in Islam, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Whoever wears an amulet has committed shirk (definition) (polytheism)," and "Indeed, ruqyah (definition) (incantations), amulets, and tiwalah (charms for love/hate) are shirk." Amulets are beads they used to hang to ward off afflictions. This is ignorance and misguidance. Therefore, it is not permissible to hang this string, and it must be removed. People must be warned against going to these sheikhs.
