Am I obligated to honor my father who wronged me and my siblings, deprived us of our rights, and caused us psychological and physical harm, and who drinks alcohol and curses religion? What should I do concerning him? And will I be held accountable for praying against him?

Insulting the Prophet (peace be upon him) and denying the reckoning, Paradise, and Hellfire is major disbelief that expels one from the fold of Islam. It is not permissible for children to accompany a father who commits these acts of disbelief. He must be advised and called to abandon disbelief gently. If he does not respond, then he must be treated with kindness while avoiding harming him. If he persists in aggression and corrupting the family, then it is permissible to sever ties with him. Practicing prostitution is a grave sin that is not justified by the father's actions. One must repent from it, seek forgiveness, and perform many good deeds, while keeping the matter confidential from people.
