How are the opening verses of Surat an-Najm interpreted?

Allah swore by the star when it descended, that is, when it fell below the horizon at the end of the night, to declare the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, free from error in his knowledge and deviation in his intention. He emphasized that the Prophet’s utterance did not stem from his own desire, but was rather an inspiration revealed [to him], and that the stars are a magnificent sign indicating the truthfulness of divine revelation.
