What is the ruling on a scrupulous person frequently making expiations for oaths (kaffarat al-yameen), and is it permissible to fast as expiation instead of feeding, and what is the specified period for performing it?

May Allah grant you healing and well-being. If oaths and their breaking occur under the influence of waswasa (whispers/obsessive thoughts), then no expiation is required of you, because you are in the position of someone compelled. However, if the oath and its breaking occur by your own choice, then expiation is obligatory by feeding ten poor persons for each oath, if you are able. If you are unable to feed or clothe them, then you must fast three days for each oath, and it is more cautious for them to be consecutive. If you are afflicted with waswasa, there is no blame upon you for adopting the easiest of opinions.
