The answer

If a wife prevents her husband from his right to enjoyment and abstains from adorning herself for him for a long period due to her grief over the loss of her father, then she has sinned and wronged her husband. If she seeks divorce for this reason, she has disobeyed her Lord; for a woman is forbidden from mourning anyone other than her husband for more than three days, and from seeking divorce without a valid reason. However, if grief has overcome her to the extent that she is unable to fulfill her husband's right, and she then seeks divorce, there is no sin upon her. It is advisable not to succumb to prolonged grief, but to seek Allah's help and communicate with the husband.
