Does the reward for reciting the Qur’an, especially Surat al-Fatihah, reach the soul of the deceased?

The preponderant opinion is that the reward for reciting the Qur’an—including Al-Fatihah and other surahs—reaches the deceased, because whoever performs a deed owns its reward and is entitled to gift it to whomever they wish, as long as the disbelief of the recipient does not prevent them from benefiting from the reward.
