Is the validity of the marriage affected by the wife's failure to observe prayer before and after the marriage?

Scholars differ regarding the ruling on one who abandons prayer without denying its obligation. Some are of the view that such a person is an apostate, committing an act of disbelief that expels them from the fold of Islam. The majority of scholars, however, hold that such a person does not disbelieve; rather, they must be called upon to repent, and if they refuse, they are to be executed as a legal punishment. As for those who consider the abandonment of prayer an act of disbelief, they differ regarding one who prays sometimes and abandons it sometimes. Some among them believe that such a person disbelieves by intentionally abandoning even a single obligatory prayer, while others believe that disbelief only occurs by abandoning it completely.

Based on this, if you prayed before marriage, then the marriage is valid. If you abandoned prayer after marriage for nine months, then according to the majority of scholars, there is no issue, and the marriage remains valid. According to those who consider the abandonment of prayer an act of disbelief, the marriage does not become void unless the waiting period ('iddah) expires without repentance. Since you repented and committed to prayer before the expiration of the 'iddah and are still pregnant, your marriage is valid, God willing.
