What is the ruling on doubting having washed certain parts of wudu', and what is the ruling on passing wind during prayer, and is it permissible to intentionally pass wind during prayer, and what is the ruling on doubting between being afflicted by obsessive doubt (waswas) or not, and is it permissible to turn on the water source for istinja' and then turn it off, and what is the ruling on wiping the chin with water remaining from washing the face, and what is the ruling on doubting whether water reached around the nose when sniffing water into it (istinshaq)?

The cure for obsessive whispers (waswas) is to disregard them and pay no attention to them. Giving in to them corrupts both one's religion and worldly life.

1. Ablution (wudu) should be performed naturally without exaggeration. The limbs must be covered with water without excessive effort. If you doubt in prayer, build upon the more likely number (of units) and do not repeat what you doubted. 2. Resisting the urge to pass wind during prayer is permissible, though disliked. It does not invalidate the prayer unless there is absolute certainty that wind has been emitted. One should not leave the prayer merely based on doubt, due to the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "He should not leave until he hears a sound or finds a smell." 3. If obsessive whispers occur, you must act according to the ruling for one afflicted by waswas and not pay attention to what you had whispers about. Doubting whether what you have is waswas or not is the state of those afflicted by waswas. 4. One must not prolong istinja (cleansing after defecation or urination). What is required is to achieve purification, and a strong presumption is sufficient for this. 5. Wiping the hand after sniffing water into the nose (istinshaq) is blameworthy extremism. It is not necessary to dry the hands after washing each limb so that the next limb does not get remnants of used water; this is an unnecessary burden and extremism.
