What is the ruling on sitting in a place where songs are being played, when the listener dislikes them?

If the gathering leads to listening to forbidden songs, then it is not permissible to sit in a place where God's prohibitions are transgressed, according to the Almighty's saying: "And He has already revealed to you in the Book that when you hear the verses of Allah being denied and ridiculed, do not sit with them until they enter into another conversation. Indeed, you would then be like them. Indeed Allah will gather the hypocrites and disbelievers in Hell all together" (An-Nisa: 140). So, sitting with those who commit sins and listening to them is a participation in and encouragement of evil, and a Muslim must be zealous for his religion.
